Among the thousands of experiences I enjoyed during my stay, these are the ones I remember most fondly.”Many years ago, when I was a child of four or five years old, I saw a picture of the Dai Butsu, the great statue of Buddha that has stood in the town of Kamakura, Japan for more than 750 years. The picture I saw was an illustration in Volume Three of a set of Golden Book Encyclopedias under the heading for Buddha.
